When I left my abusive relationship, I had almost nothing. I didn't have a car, enough clothes for work, or even money for groceries. The rideshare gift cards helped me get to job interviews, counseling, and court without having to depend on anyone else. The clothing gift cards let me replace the few things I had left behind and helped me feel confident walking into a new job. It wasn't just about the gift cards—it was knowing someone believed I deserved a fresh start. That kindness gave me hope during one of the hardest times of my life.
Leaving with two young children was terrifying. We had to start over with almost nothing. The diapers, formula, children's clothing, and grocery support made it possible for me to focus on keeping my kids safe instead of worrying about how I would get through each day. They also helped me get a prepaid phone so I could stay in contact with my advocate and my employer. Those simple things made a huge difference in helping us begin to rebuild our lives.
After years of abuse, asking for help was one of the hardest things I've ever done. I didn't know where to find legal help or counseling, and I couldn't afford transportation to appointments. They connected me with local resources, provided rideshare assistance, and helped with household essentials while I got back on my feet. Every interaction reminded me that I wasn't alone. Today I have my own apartment, a steady job, and a future I never thought was possible.
